GAL APPROVED: Fashion Week Beauty Must-Haves VIDEO
The DivaGals survey some of the beauty must-haves they scored during New York Fashion Week.
SOAK. Last week the DivaGals attended the NOLCHA fashion blogger’s brunch. As you can see from our Facebook pictures the food was delicious and the ambience lovely. We also got a chance to discover Vitabath‘s new line of bath products. Reconnecting with Vitabath was like running into an old friend. We remember the rich fragrances and the blue bubble bath from when we were kids growing up, and Vitabath hasn’t changed too much. They still are “luxury in a bottle,” offering wonderful European quality skincare products that are as fragrant as the day is long. What sets Vitabath apart? They have “twice the essential ingredients” and half as much water as the nearest competitor. Their line is formulated with Sea Kelp extract, which is rich in vitamins and minerals and helps to soothe and condition skin. My personal favorite is the delicious blue bottle spa fragrance, a unique blend of subtle florals and citrus with a touch of sandalwood. It reminds me of walking along a beautiful beach enjoying the ocean breeze. (Luxe Gal)
SOOTHE. Late night? Jet-lagged? Dark circles under your eyes? That was me at New York Fashion Week, but I found a new solution! At the Chic Week Robert Verdi Retreat at Luxe Laboratory, I discovered Kerstin Florian Correcting Eye Rescue. It’s a simple, two-step system that promises to soothe and hydrate the oh-so-delicate eye area. All I had to do was spritz an eye pad (one for each eye) with the included Neroli Water. The water smelled great, thanks to the orange blossom extract. The pads feel gauzy and delicate when wet, but they are made from marine fibers called Chitosan, which is very similar to collagen. I gently patted and smoothed the Eye Rescue pads under each eye. Then it was time to sit back and let the treatment do its magic. Easy, right? I could see doing this in the morning while I got ready for work, or before going out for the evening. Fifteen minutes later, I took off the pads and looked in the mirror: Wow! My eyes looked refreshed and my skin looked and felt great. This isn’t a daily treatment, but when my eyes need saving, I’ll use Correcting Eye Rescue. I hadn’t heard of Kerstin Florian before (it’s sold only in select high-end spas), but I love their natural, holistic philosophy, and I’m very glad to find it. (DigiGal)
SMOOTH. The quest for flawless skin is kinda like searching for the holy grail, right? Not any more. At an exclusive beauty blogger breakfast with Mally Roncal, the fierce celebrity make artist and cosmetics guru reacquainted us with Poreless Face Defender, a clear finisher that cuts shine and makes pores virtually disappear. During breakfast I got a dab on just one side of my face and the difference was instantly evident (don’t worry, I did the other side as well!). The water-based, featherweight formula is clear, meaning it is perfect for every skin tone. And now Mally has made a portable compact with with a built-in sponge applicator = flawless skin on the go. FYI my fellow chocolate divas, we hear from Mally herself that she expanding her color range to complement our tones, sweet! Check out the video below to see Mally in action backstage at the New York Fashion Week Tracy Reese Spring 2012 show. (TV DivaGal)
