TV UPFRONTS 2012: NBC’s TV Shows to Watch!
NBC kicked off Upfronts this week presenting a boatload of new shows. Here are the ones we know you’ll want to watch this fall!
The New Normal (Tuesdays, 9:30 p.m.).
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. A gay couple desperate for a baby; their outspoken personal assistant who will be breaking out quotable one liners (yes, she is played by reality star-turned-legit actress NeNe Leakes); and one very sweet surrogate, who comes with a too cute preteen daughter and not so politically correct mother.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. You’ll be all over this family unit from Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who always manages to brings topical issues to the forefront and make them irresistable to watch. NBC is calling this new sitcom “a post-modern family.” We’re calling it sincerely funny.
Animal Practice (Wednesdays, 8 p.m.)
WHAT’S IT ABOUT. Good doc with a bad attitude runs a veterinarian hospital with his own brand of style.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. We’re not quite sold yet on Dr. George Coleman (played by Justin Kirk) who uses sick cats tp pick up lonely chicks, but we’re loving Dr. Zaius, played by Crystal the Monkey. The Night of the Museum and Hangover Part II star is once again repping for all female primates, showing you can be in tiny and charge in the operating room!
Chicago Fire (Wednesdays, 10 p.m.)
WHAT’S IT ABOUT. The lives of firefighters on the gritty streets of Chicago.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. This new soapy drama is from Law & Order mastermind Dick Wolf, so that’s always a good start. Plus, there are a lot hot guys running around putting out fires… and starting ones that will melt a few hearts.
Three Shows to Look Out For Midseason:
Ready For Love. Three hot bachelors get trained by experts to find their one and only. We’ll watch for the abs.
Do No Harm. A modern day Jekyll and Hyde, can this mysteriously handsome doc find a way to live in harmony with his “seductive, devious, borderline sociopathic” alter ego? We’ll watch to find out.
Infamous. A gorgeous young black detective (Meagan Good) returns to her hometown and the rich family she practically grew up in to uncover the murder of her socialite friend. Interracial romance alert. We’ll watch for that!
