SUMMER TCA 2012: CBS’ Sherlock & Watson Doing It? The Ultimate Bromance and Jersey-licious!

Elementary.TCA2012

While the DivaGals admit we like our Watson in the form of Jude Law, we’re totally ready to see Lucy Liu as a female Watson on CBS’ new criminal procedural drama Elementary. Of course, having a female Watson makes us wonder, will there be sexual tension between this one and her Sherlock Jonny Lee Miller? (After all, there is between Jude and Robert Downey Jr.!)

“You’ll see that Sherlock Holmes has a bit of an awkward relationship with the other gender. And so bringing that into play, it’s a constant reminder of that awkwardness,” shared Lucy. Then the stylish star made a fashion reference — which we love! “It’s like having an itchy sweater; you know you have it on.” As for Lucy Liu’s clothing, she was NOT wearing an itchy sweater, but a gorgeous two-tone sheath by Roland Mouret, her stylist Lee Harris shared with us.

On Partners, based on the real-life friendship of producing partners Max Mutchnick, who is gay, and David Kohan, who is straight, we’re so happy for Ugly Betty alum Michael Urie. Why? Because his onscreen boyfriend is being played by Superman vet Brandon Routh. And Brandon’s happy he finally gets to do some comedy. “I’ve been pushing for comedy for the last – well — ever since I moved out from Iowa, I guess it’s been something I’ve wanted to do. His first comedy audience? “You tell jokes to the cows and all that. You don’t get much of a response,” he joked. Awww, Brandon, we’ll always chuckle for you!

Made in Jersey‘s British star Janet Montgomery actually has some personal experience with American law, on the wrong side of the bench. “The first day I drove here I got too close to a pedestrian and then I had to go [to court],” she shared. “It was you either plead guilty or you could say “no concession” which meant that you didn’t think you were guilty but you’d pay the fine anyway. If you said not guilty, then it was kind of pointless because they were going to say you were guilty anyway.” Hopefully, her onscreen clients won’t hear anything but “case dismissed.”

The CBS fall lineup begins Wednesday, Sept. 19.
