TV DIVAGAL: Who Will Win The Glee Project Tonight?

You know that TV DivaGal is a big fan of The Glee Project, and I’ve been diligently watching Season 2. It’s down to three contests: Blake, Aylin and Ali, and according to Glee‘s head honcho Ryan Murphy, only one will win a spot on the series in its upcoming season. So who will it be?

WHO WILL WIN? All three contenders are super talented, though I give Blake and Ali an edge for being at little more polished and camera-ready. Having said that, I think Aylin will win tonight.

Ryan loves creating new, unique characters. We’ve already had on a bevy of beautiful guys like Blake, and actors with real physical and intellectual disabilities such as cast member Lauren Potter and guest star Zack Weinstein. For Aylin, a Muslim-American who has grown up in a traditional family but lives by her own modern views, there is no one like her on the show — and on television frankly. I believe Ryan is intrigued with the idea of exploring her story onscreen and that will give Aylin the little something extra to win it all tonight.

Still, I hope it’s not the last we see of Blake and Ali. I think Ryan should revisit what he did last year and give the runners-up a two-episode arc. Or at least turn The Glee Project trailer “Perfect” into a full-fledged movie. That’s one coming-of-age story I’d pay to see.

The Glee Project, season finale, airs Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 10 p.m. on Oxygen.
