ABC Press Tour Summer ’17! Heavenly Show Gets A Name Change!By Delaina Dixon | August 6, 2017 | Entertainment
Hey Divas! If you’ve pre-programmed your DVR to tapeThe Gospel of Kevin, well, you’ll need to switch it up. The series has gotten a name change to Kevin (Probably) Saves The World.
The series’ female executive team of Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters said that the name change help people grasp exactly what the series is about – a guy who thinks he’s capable of nothing taking on the greatest challenge of a lifetime. “It doesn’t take much to be kind or help somebody, but it’s hard,” they joked, adding that’s where the humor of Kevin’s situations come into play.
There may be a series name change, but don’t worry, #WBWD Jason Ritter is still in the lead role. And Kimberly Herbert Gregory has taken over the “agent of God” character who navigates Kevin through his higher power transformation. The series execs shared at the panel that Kimberly was always their first choice, but she was busy when they initially shot the pilot. You may remember Kimberly a series regular Dr. Belinda Brown in the HBO comedy series Vice Principals. A heavenly intervention that she was available at the right time? We can only wait and see!
Kevin (Probably) Saves The World premieres Oct. 3 on ABC.
