THE CW PRESS TOUR Summer ’16: Jane The Virgin Star Explores Living … In My Last Days Tonight

My-Last-Days

If there’s one program you should sit down for tonight (and the next two) it’s My Last Days. This riveting documentary, helmed by Jane The Virgin star Justin Baldoni (yes, Mateo’s DILF Rafael), this three-night event explores how people living with terminal diagnoses are living life to the fullest until their final days.

“I came up with the show about 4-1/2 years ago,” Justin told the DivaGals at the CBS/The CW/Showtime Press Tour party inside Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.  “I wanted to create something that would be of service to the world.”

Justin started with the quote, “I’ve made death a messenger of joy,” to examine how six young people facing terminal conditions are living each moment of their lives with purpose, and no regret. “When we watch we’re reminded that we’re mortal and we don’t have to find out we’re dying to start living,” Justin shares of his experience making the documentary. “It’s about how can we wake people up [and tell them] don’t wait ’til the end to be who you want to be. Live, like truly live.”

Justin’s project, which had a successful run on YouTube, has already been picked up by the network for a second season. And Justin shared a bit good news. All the participants featured are still living. Justin’s actually directing his first film for Warner Brothers with one of the characters from the first season of My Last Days.

Justin surmised, “Everyone has to deal with death at some point, and it’s easier to push it away. But if you think about it from time to time, you won’t wait to do things you love. It will actually make you live better.”
