GAL APPROVED! CMX Comes To NYC – Have Your Dinner … And Movie Too!By Delaina Dixon and Maureen Martin | October 19, 2018 | Gal Approved
SEE & EAT! They say dinner and a movie is the perfect date night. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do it all in one place? Get ready to lux up your movie-going experience with CMX — this time bigger IS so much better!
CMX CinéBistro New York 62nd, which opened yesterday, brings the company’s signature VIP movie-going experience to the heart of the Upper East Side. This newly renovated theater experience offers tasty in-theater dining, innovative cocktails, luxurious reclining love seats and of course, big movie screen and sound over six stories of pure joy.
What else do you get? Concierge and wait service, an immaculately clean theater and two bars with cocktails created by a mixologist. This ain’t your happy hour margarita … oh no you get cocktails with premier brands like Ryan Reynold‘s Aviation Gin!
The menu, from the mind of executive chef Michael Delgado, is superb that it goes from a meatless salad to short ribs with mac and cheese. We dug into artistic dishes like lamb with sauteed spinach and roasted salmon. And yes, of course, there is popcorn! Popped in the kitchen and drizzled with, what’s that — real butter! and it’s served in a bowl. To not interrupt your viewing experience too much, you can order up until about 30 minutes before the movie starts for in-theater dining.
The cinemas range in size from 46 to 64 seats that are oversized with leather accents and footrests and come with a swivel table. Each chair also includes a dim LED light and storage compartment for safekeeping of personal items.
This is dinner and a movie experience, so it will cost you with movies starting at $17 a ticket, plus meals and drinks. But when you add it up its about the same price as going out to dinner and then a movie – you can subtract the carfare from going place to place!
