GAL APPROVED! EAT. RIDE. BE MERRY NYC with Beyond Sushi, Shimano Bike NYC, VR World & Wine!By The DivaGals | June 23, 2017 | Gal Approved
EAT. The healthy food revolution is here! Beyond Sushi, which has been serving fast food-style vegan fare for years, is finally making its meals a sit-down affair at their 37th Street location, courtesy Israeli native Chef Guy Vaknin and his wife, Tali.
The DivaGals went for a tasting and loved how everything was so delicious and filling, which includes delectable bites like the NUTTY BUDDY rice paper wraps, and a sushi platter so colorful, you may just want to stare at it – but we advise you dig in! Learn more about vegan food and the Beyond Sushi brand and locations at their website. See more pics on our DivaGals FB page.
RIDE. Love to ride your bicycle? Shimano NYC wants to make sure that your experience is top notch. The Japanese bike manufacturing company, which has been around since 1921, has erected a pop-up store in SoHo where you can check out their entire collection of bikes, parts and accessories, and rent a bike to give it a test run (the shifting gears are oh-so-easy). Get yourself down to 473 West Broadway so you can try a bike and get anywhere else in the city! Check our more pics on our DivaGals FB page.
DRINK. Our favorite way to start the summer is with Wine Enthusiast’s annual Southwest Wines of France Gourmet French Fries Competition in New York City. We were among hundreds of attendees who tasted more than 40 wines from Southwest France divided into six categories: dry whites, sweet whites, rosés, fruity reds, full-bodied reds and 100 percent Malbec wines. The wines were served with French fry-based dishes from five of the East Coast’s top chefs. We voted with the crowd for the “Fruity Red” station: David Rotter of New York City’s Boulton & Watt presented Surf & Dirt – pickled Yukon Gold fries with Maine lobster salad and tarragon aioli with the 100 percent Malbecs. Yum yum yum! Check out more on the event so you can plan to be there in 2018… Did you know that you can sip wine and do good? Canei Wines of ITALY pledges a portion of proceeds from every bottle of Canei sold in the USA to raise a million dollars of aid to AMATRICE EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
