EX Isle star Nicole Ferrell shares her secrets to creating a quick smokey eye — on the subway no less — just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Like many New Yorkers I have a couple of jobs and little time, so how do I manage “my look?” Well living in NYC time is always of the essence, so you have to know how to do your makeup on the go. Here’s a few beauty tips that I use to make my life a bit easier.

I always have pressed powder, black/brown eyeliner, a small smokey eye kit, lipstick, Chapstick and mascara in your hand/travel bag.

While in the train I find a seat right next to to door so I have a place to keep my arm steady while the train is is motion. I start off applying my pressed powder, blending it into my skin.

I use three eye shadow colors: black by my lashes, bronze in the crease and a light gold or brown by the brow. You can use your colors in a similar fashion.

On a shaky train I apply the eyeliner really slow on the top and bottom. I use brown liner for the brow and apply lightly, not to dark to shade and line brows.

Use mascara to POP your lashes and brush the stick across your eyebrows after you’re finished. Don’t dip it again, the remnants will just make sure brows stay in place and look perfect.

I double use my brown liner to line my lips, then I apply Blistex. It creates a nice natural lip.
If you like to go dark or wear lipstick then trying lining your lip with black. Apply a dark purple lipstick but “don’t cover the whole lip.” Add a deep burgundy hue in the middle of the lips to create a lushest ombré look.

You can complete this look in about 20 minutes . . . the time of my average train ride!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
