Trying to make plans for Valentine’s Day?  Time is running out (it’s in 48 hours!).

Whether you’ve just met someone that you’d love to go out on a date with, or another year has passed and you realize it’s almost February 14 – again! –  you need to get a move on with those plans! It may be too late to get a reservation at that fancy restaurant last minute (although you should definitely try!), but that doesn’t mean that Valentine’s Day has to be a bust! Here are some ideas that are a little more personal, romantic and definitely Divalicious!

Plan A Romantic Walk. Up first we have an absolute classic – and one that often works wonders. Heading out on a romantic walk could be just what you and your boo both need. Not only is it peaceful and perfect for some one-to-one time, but you can also really get to know each other better if your romance is still quite new. Have kids? This could be your chance to get some alone time together! Head out to your town center/local beach/countryside/woodlands area and start to stroll. (If you really want to impress, add number four to this too.)

Set Up A Dinner Date. So you really want to do dinner, but it’s too late to get a reservation at anywhere worthwhile? Why not turn your own space into the hottest reservation in town! Cooking a romantic meal can be incredibly romantic, think of how fun it would be to stir up the sauce with your cutie! Want to really pour on the Valentine’s Day vibe? Break out some good cutlery out, use Valentine’s Day stickers to decorate the table and place cards and slip into your favorite red dress to set the mood. With candles, music and your loved one or crush on hand, who needs a fancy reservation anyway?

Go To The Cinema. Want to add a little something extra to your romantic evening? Why not go to the movies? Yes, take it one step further that flipping on Netflix and your ROKU. Get up off the couch, dial up Fandango actually go to the movies. Thanks to new theaters that offer comfortable seating and chairside service, it can also be better than lounging on the sofa! Now we know what you’re thinking Divas – the movies get pricey! Well, check out our Divalicious EIC Delaina Dixon as she discusses the benefits of MoviePass, a monthly service that allows you to see unlimited movies in theaters for a low monthly fee.

Host A Picnic. So you’ve planned that romantic walk, and you want to make it extra special. Then you’re going to want to add a romantic picnic into the mix too. Pack up some drinks and snacks, and you’ll be able to enjoy some great eats with amazing views (weather permitting, of course!) If the climate is colder where you are, then maybe finish off your walk with a candle-lit living room picnic instead. Or skip the walk altogether and head right in for this cute and casual dinner date.

Go Sightseeing! If you want to avoid some of the more romantic or cliche date ideas but you still want it to have some wow-factor, then why not get out and about! There’s always somewhere new to discover right in or near your local hood. See some sights, take in some history and culture or go to a gallery or museum. Our Divalicious EIC Delaina Dixon discovered a beautiful garden in the heart of Beverly Hills during her winter getaway in Los Angeles. A day of sightseeing can be fun for your shared interests, and you’ll be expanding your brain while you both expand your hearts.
