NEW YEAR, NEW ME! Get On Track In 2016 January 5, 2016January 5, 2016The DivaGals 1 Comment Hey DivaGals! 2016 is officially here! We love to start the year with positivity and light, so we’ll be bringing you great posts all month to take charge of your life. First up? An interview with celebrity fitness instructor Charity Lynette and Curvy Chick Fitness to help you get your body and mind on the right track! Charity has lost over 100 lbs., and has some tough-but-needed tips to get you on your way to greatness! Set realistic goals for yourself. Don’t try to change everything that you feel is wrong or needs repair in your life all at once. Make a list of the top 5 to 10, and — depending on your list — work on one or two to concentrate on each month. By the time the month is up it will pretty much be a habit. Each following month add one to two more from your list. You could get a lot done in a year! Celebrate the small victories. If you accomplished any part of your goal for a day, a week or the whole month, celebrate it and give yourself a pat on the back. That doesn’t spend that money you are trying to save or eat a piece of cake since you went two days without sugar! But definitely take time to reward yourself — try a bubble bath or take time out to watch a great movie on TV. Take each day at a time and be proud of yourself for doing what you said you were going to do. Encourage someone else. Stay encouraged by encouraging someone else. It’s free, can make someone else feel good and remind you to keep at it. Things like this are contagious and can make the difference in a person’s day. We can all agree that the world needs more of this. This is something that will be returned back to you on a day where you are not very motivated. Have Accountability. If you are struggling with eating well and working out get an exercise partner that already works out on the regular. Since they are already going, you won’t have to worry about them flaking out on you, plus it will be that reminder to get you thinking about your goals. Or you can try hiring a professional–it’s their job to help get you on track and take the stress out of helping you develop a regimen. Having a problem saving money? Try getting an extra account that you can have to make deposits in from your checking account on the same day as payday so that you don’t even have a chance to see it in your active checking account. These tips may be hard, but after the newness of the New Year wears off you still want to be steadfast in your goals. Whatever it is that you set for yourself to accomplish, finish or get better at, know that change is hard and it is not going to happen overnight. It’s adding up the good days that lead to weeks and months of results — so never stop trying!
