NYFW FALL ’17 – Fall Fashion Must-Haves From NOLCHA, Part II!By Samantha von Sperling | February 20, 2017 | Style
I always enjoy NOLCHA’s “Ones to Watch” during NY Fashion Week. I like to see if there’s a common thread through the minds of young designers at the moment, to see if there is a “something in the air” towards a movement in fashion. But most of all, I like to see talent on the rise. NOLCHA’s “Ones to Watch” is the place for that.
If there was one trend amongst the shows this Fashion Week Fall Winter 2017, it was no trend. Fashion seemed very much in free spirit to do what it pleased from designer to designer.
I saw a lot of dramatic silhouettes this season: capes, trains, flowy things, peplums and interesting use of materials. There was definitely a dramatic flair to a lot of what was shown and lots of color. In men’s fashion, there was some reverse pleats on trousers. Interesting.
This season’s “One To Watch” designers are Mariana Valentina, Son Collection, Just In Case, Chèlbè (designer pictured up top) and Stevenson University.
