Hello my lovely Divas! It’s that time of year again – New York Fashion Week for Spring 2018!
We start our journey with one of our favorite designers, Malan Breton. Malan is known for his beautifully crafted garments and his highly entertaining shows, and of course, this season’s presentation had both.
After opening the show with a live singer, Malan’s Spring Summer 2018 presentation named “The Lament for Icarus” glided down the runway at Style Fashion Week, held on the ISS Intrepid.
The collection spans time with looks inspired by the Victorian era, the Pariere life of the 1800s, the Michael Jackson 1980s era, the nineties feel of Miami Vice and even the future. The looks started off white and clean with white shimmery denim high waisted pants, flowing gold dusted chiffon skirts and men’s pieces with lapels and grommets. We noted a duster petticoat dress and a diaphanous see-through gown embellished with feathers.
Then came color presented in a futuristic Star Trek style, followed by layered tulle gowns and an embroidered cropped pantsuit with matching jacket. We loved the splattering of a print dress with flounce sleeves, and young
male models wrapped in hues of blue, layered by pattern and texture, plus a full men suits for women that looked tres chic.
We got classic Malan with a stunning golden gown. and the dresses got bigger, including an intricate corset gown with hugely over-sized circle skirt that we give model props for making it down the runway in.

Malan’s newest collection is vintage, futuristic and timeless all at the same time. And we loved that his models came in all hues! We don’t know how this man keeps pumping out so many wondrous designs season after season, but we are glad he does!
