“Brooklyn Bound” contributor Tsadiqwah Scarville checks out Soul Food alum Darrin Henson‘s new book!
When it comes to life one thing we can all agree on is there’s no one way to live it or to learn from it. When life throws you lemons there’s actually 10 gazillion things you can do with it, but we’ll let you in on our top three: You can make homemade hard lemonade; you can make an energizing anti-aging facial scrub; or you can simply go with your gut instincts and leave your own mark in the world!
“Ain’t that the Truth” is nothing but the truth! This new book by Darrin Henson, who we all know from his days as ex-convict Lem Van Adams on Showtime’s iconic series Soul Food, is all about not being perfect and not really knowing all the answers, but seeing and knowing the truth for what it is and accepting it.
The award-winning choreographer turned actor and now author, acclaimed for his music videos for stars like Britney Spears, as well as his break-out TV role, is teaching us a thing or two on not getting stuck in the past and moving forward.
The philanthropist and national ambassador to the M.A. LEE Scholarship Fund brought compassion, awareness and his ever so cool and calm sexiness to his recent book launch held at Clyde Frazier’s Wine and Dine in New York City. Book lovers and influencers in attendance shared laughs as Henson opened up about his personal experiences and his journey on gaining wisdom, helping others and lessons learned through life. “See what you see,” he said. “Don’t pretend there’s something else going on … life is about confirmation.” Now ain’t that the truth!
