Relationship In A Rut? Why Not Take A Little Getaway (We’ve Got A Spot!)By The DivaGals | August 16, 2017 | Relationships
Beyonce’s “Lemonade“ may have been released over a year ago, but it’s tracks are still playing through our rooms while we’re getting ready, the clubs while we’re out and our minds when we’re at work. Women are more empowered nowadays and as we all know, it’s better to be vocal when we’re not happy than to pander to others’ needs at the expense of our own happiness.
If your partner isn’t treating you right, it’s not surprising that you might be tempted to say “boy, bye” and return to the realm of the single ladies. But don’t be too hasty. While no woman should ever put up with any nonsense from a partner, rectifying the situation might simply require giving your relationship a little TLC. Your partner may have reasons for their below par behavior or lack of effort. Or they might simply have become a little too comfortable in their daily regimen, taking you for granted in the process.
So why not take a romantic trip to an unfamiliar location to see whether the relationship can be (or is worth being!) rectified.
Why Take a Trip? Taking a trip away from work, domestic responsibilities and a hectic social calendar allow you and your partner a little alone time to truly reconnect. A relaxing break will allow you both to unwind, relieve a little stress and focus on one another, rather than responsibilities, problems or issues back home. Your relationship will begin to improve from the moment you start to plan the getaway. You’ll be in high spirits when checking out your hotel, looking at photographs of the beautiful scenery that awaits you and packing your belongings ready to leave. Once you have arrived at your destination, you’ll experience a whole array of positive and stimulating activities and feel a sense of freedom in having so much intimate time with one another.
Where To Go It may be tempting to opt for a traditionally romantic setting: Paris, Venice, Hawaii. But these places are likely to be busy year round, teeming with couples who are still going through the honeymoon phase and are likely to rub you up the wrong way with their grandiose displays of affection. Opt for somewhere romantic, but a little more remote. A good location to consider is Naples in Italy. This city still has a romantic, Mediterranean atmosphere and plenty of activities that you and your partner can reconnect through. You can challenge yourselves to work together by engaging in physical activities such as climbing Mount Vesuvius, or you take things easy and allow each other the opportunity to talk with a cool glass of wine at one of the wonderful restaurants overlooking Naples harbor.
Hopefully, this little adventure will amend minor problems and put the spark back into your relationship. If not, it wasn’t a waste of time: the experience will have clarified that you aren’t ideal from one another and you can both begin to move on with your lives. It’s a win-win situation that will leave everyone feeling better for the outcome.
