WATCH FALL TV 2012: Leverage Summer Finale!

Leverage

Start your official Fall TV Watch with an end! Leverage airs its summer finale tonight.

Leverage fans – including its biggest, TV DivaGal’s mom! – will get two episodes back-to-back tonight: “The Frame-up Job” and “The Rundown Job.”

In the first episode, Nate (Timothy Hutton) has to clear the good name of his partner (professional and personal) Sophie (Gina Bellman) after she is accused of an art heist. In the second episode, “The Rundown Job,” Eliot, Hardison and Parker join Colonel Vance (a returning Adam Baldwin) in a race to stop a terrorist from launching a biological attack on Washington, D.C.

TV DivaGal spoke exclusively with Aldis Hodge, who plays Hardison. During our conversation, I got the scoop on the sibling rivalry that often pops up between Eliot and his character.

TV SHOW TO WATCH: So You Think You Can Dance: The Top 20!

sytycd_20-group_1438_DJ1_jw2

You know TV DivaGal loves So You Think You Can Dance! So my happy feet were a tapping last night as I watched the series announce the Top 20 for season nine.

All the usual suspects we thought would make it did. Alexa Anderson, who endured the judges’ scrutiny all through Las Vegas week, was rightfully the first to learn she had made it in. Both mid-west ballroom dancers made it, which I think was a little bit of a cop out. In my mind, Witney Carson is definitely the stronger competitor.

But on Sunday, these two chefs will be celebrating Mother’s Day just like the rest of us!

What will be on the menu for Cat, her partner and their four boys? “I usually do a leg of lamb, something fun, with roasted red potatoes and good red wine — something comforting,” she shared with TV DivaGal at the premiere party for the series inside The Kitchen, a shooting space on Manhattan’s East side.

TV SHOW TO WATCH TONIGHT: NYC 22 Series Premiere!

NYC22

There’s a new cop show premiering on CBS tonight, NYC 22 –- that’s nothing new. What is surprising is how much fun this romp in NYPD blue actually is.

The show follows the lives of a handful of rookie cops who are assigned to the 22nd Precinct in Harlem, N.Y. You’ve got your usual legal suspects: the kid (Stark Sands) who comes from generations of boys in blue who has to prove his worth; the gal (Judy Marte) running from her family’s criminal past; the military vet with a chip on her shoulder, played by the ever lovely lee Leelee Sobieski. “She’s a real tough cookie but as the show progresses, you see her heart pop out more, ” Leelee shared with me at the NYC premiere screening of the show inside the Paley Center for Media.

TV SHOW TO WATCH THIS WEEKEND: The Client List

CL_EP106_MD_20120316_205r

After watching the TV series premiere of The Client List, based on the Lifetime telefilm that aired last year, I only had one question: how do I get star Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s rockin’ bod? She’s been working her curves, which come in handy for Riley, a single mom trying to make ends meet.

Riley’s a real masseuse, but learns she can make a lot more if she’s willing to give “extras” at The Rub spa. Finding herself in dire straits to pay the family mortgage, she takes on the challenge. This may be the best part of the episode when a delicious montage of young, sculpted, hairless men indulge in her services (somehow, we feel that wouldn’t be the case if this was real life!).

Of course, Riley grapples with the morality of her new work; luckily she’s got caring boss Georgia (Loretta Devine) to help her come to terms. While romance could bloom while she’s working her table, we’re betting our money on her husband’s brother Evan (Colin Egglesfield) who seems to have a lot more affection for Riley than just brotherly-in-law love. The Client List is good, clean fun, even if it ain’t all legal!

The Client List series premiere is Sunday, April 8 at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

TV SHOW TO WATCH TONIGHT: Key & Peele: Comedy Central Series Premiere!

keyandpeele.comedycentral

As a fan of the late, great MADtv, I still remember some of the legendary moments comic actors Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele created during their stints on the Fox sketch comedy show. Now the real life pals are back as a comedy duo their self titled series Key & Peele, premiering tonight on Comedy Central.

The 30 minutes of funny features the two guys, who bond over their a bi-racial backgrounds, doing bits of stand up between live action skits that poke fun at race, relationships, celebrity personas and more. Comedy Central can be a bit male skewed, so I brought in an gender expert — my boyfriend — to also watch.

TV DIVAGAL’s TV Show To Watch Tonight: House of Lies

Kristen Bell, Don Cheadle, Josh Lawson, Ben Schwartz

TV DivaGal gives you three reasons to watch the House of Lies, premiering tonight on Showtime.

1. Don Cheadle gets naked, a lot. The Oscar-nominated film star plays Marty Kaan, the lead man on a four-person management consulting team, who equates landing the deal to saying his last name out loud (try it and you’ll see what I mean!). Cheadle, yes the thoughtful actor from Hotel Rwanda, taps into another side of his acting and brings out a selfish, shameless, sexed up sharp dresser who is still pretty irresistible. Bonus: Cheadle is executive producer of the series, go Don!

2. Celebration of being yourself. Marty’s tween son, Roscoe, doesn’t conform to considered “social” gender norms. And his father is his biggest supporter. Nice to see that kind of unconditional love, especially from a single, African-American dad. Bonus: fans of the musical Grease are going to love the first two episodes of this series.

3. The clothes! How could we not notice Marty’s lightly textured grey suits highlighted by lavender and violet ties and pocket squares; or co-star Kristen Bell‘s sharp tweed overcoat? We’re determined to get to the bottom of their styles (so we can get them on our bottoms!), so stay tuned.

House of Lies premieres Sunday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
