The Fabulous Beekman Boys Premiere: You Better Work!By Delaina Dixon | June 16, 2010 | Entertainment
You think you’re going to settle in to watch the premiere of The Fabulous Beekman Boys tonight on Planet Green. Not quite.
“We have people who want to come up all the time and visit, but we’re so busy trying to get all the chores done,” says series star Dr. Brent Ridge of the Beekman Farm they own in upstate New York, where they are raising 80 goats, two pigs, a dozen chickens and a llama.
“To spend time with us, you have to pull a weed or muck the barn,” he declares.
Luckily, TV DivaGal got to keep it clean when she caught up with the cutie couple at their premiere party inside of celebrity chef Jean-Georges‘ newest NYC eatery, ABC Kitchen. Beekman Boy no. 2 Josh Kilmer-Purcell spilled to me how he and Brent, two city slickers by day, became accidental farmers.
“We got an email from a man named Farmer John. He said, “I have thirty days to find a home for my goats. He was a farmer without a farm and we were a farm without a farmer. So we asked him to move in.”
The fabu boys will be hanging out this season with some of their famous friends, including Martha Stewart. Wonder if she has to mulch the garden when she visits?
The Fabulous Beekman Boys premieres Wednesday, June 16 at 9 pm. on Planet Green.
