Take a deep breath
When you’re overwhelmed your breath gets shorter, your heart beats faster and your body tenses up. Taking a deep breath reverses these physical symptoms and creates some space in your mind to think of creative options to challenges. The busier we are, the more we need that space of one deep breath to ground and regroup.
Touch Your Skin
One of the quickest ways to calm down is to get out of your head and back into your body. The mind is the realm of anxiety and worry, constantly overthinking and creating stress. Brushing your fingers lightly against your skin instantly refocuses your awareness away from the chaotic mind and into the feeling of being alive in your body.
Drink a Glass of Cool Water
In energy healing circles, drinking a glass of cool water is considered an extremely efficient way of grounding and detaching from intense energies around you. As you drink your cool water, feel it travel down your body and tune into the feeling of being refreshed. Instant calm!
