TV DIVAGAL EXCLUSIVE: The Bachelorette's Ali Believes Frank Stuck Around for TV TimeBy Delaina Dixon | July 20, 2010 | Entertainment
On The Bachelorette, TV DivaGal heard Frank, who exited on his own accord last night, tell Ali he had stayed for so long because he wasn’t aware how strong his unresolved feelings were for his ex Nicole until he saw her again. How about the fact that sticking around meant a free trip around the world and TV exposure, Frank? TV DivaGal thinks that played a part, and I’m not the only one.
“I think a little bit of it for him was staying in the game. And staying in it longer to be on TV longer, which is hard to hear,” Ali Fedotowsky admits exclusively to the TV DivaGal.
Not that Ali thinks Frank didn’t have any feelings for her. She just believes they may have been a surprise, even to him.
“I think Frank came on the show knowing he had really strong feelings for his ex, who I really don’t necessarily think was an ex. I bet they probably had dinner the night before he came on the show, it was like that type of relationship,” she theorizes.
“I think he wasn’t expecting to have feelings for me, and he did have strong feelings for me, and he thought it was, OK, I’ll just sort of get to the next episode.” Of course, when things got really serious, i.e., time to meet Ali’s parents, Frank finally decided to bail.
It’s no surprise Ali (and the trio of girls I watch the show with every week!) was attracted to the aspiring screenwriter still living in his parent’s home. He is a cutie.
“My feelings were real for him,” she shares. So she kept him around, only to get her worst fears confirmed.
“I knew that Frank, as much as I liked him and as much fun as I had with him and as strong my feelings were for him — I cried my eyes out when he left — I knew that Frank could hurt me,” Ali confesses. “When I would talk with the producer, I would say, I know he’s going to hurt me in the end, he’s that guy I’ve dated in the past that will hurt me.”
That’s why Ali says Frank wouldn’t have been the final guy standing, even if he had stuck it out.
“I think regardless, even if he had stayed, I believe with all my heart that my [final] decision made would have remained the same,” Ali shares.
Ali may have every reason to be totally peeved with Frank, but she’s not.
“What Frank and I had was real. And I really don’t have hard feelings for him.” After all, he was hers for a minute, even if it was just on borrowed time!
Tune in next Monday for Part Two of my exclusive interview with Ali!
