A Black Girl’s Point of View
TV DivaGal was so right.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that West Lee, the lawyer from South Carolina that The Bachelorette star Ashley Herbert eliminated from the show last week, would be the next Bachelor. Now I got proof!
“I think that The Bachelor presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to find love in an amazing set of circumstances with some incredible people. So being offered that chance would definitely be something that I have to think about,” West tells the TV DivaGal.
Of course, he’d contemplate the offer for a minute, just to make it look like he was weighing his options… “I would just have to trace it down and talk with my family and my loved ones and just consider it… anyone that’s ready to find love would have to consider it,” he says.
And yes, West admits he is ready to find love again, even though he seemed to hesitate telling Ashley that last week. “I paused a little bit when she asked, just because I thought that my going out there and putting myself out there in that situation was sort of evidence that I was ready to put myself back out there and find love again. It’s kind of a surprise that Ashley maybe didn’t see that or think I was,” he explains to me. “But yes, I definitely think that I was ready to move on then and find love and I absolutely think I am now.”
As we all know, West’s wife Sarah passed away in 2007. While the cause of death was drowning in a bathtub and West was in no way implicated with Sarah’s passing, some people have accused him otherwise. Here’s what West had to say on that situation:
“I have no skeletons to hide… I know I love Sarah. Sarah knows I love Sarah. I would have never had done anything to hurt her. You know, God bless that her soul is resting in peace. Anyone that knows me, my family – anyone that knew us — knows how much I loved her. I would have never have done anything to hurt her.”
The Bachelorette airs Monday, June 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
