Ah yes, awards season is officially upon us! TV DivaGal has her popcorn and cabernet ready!
Last night’s Golden Globes marked the end of an era with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Tina gave a line that had me (and my fellow watchers) giggling all night over Tyler Perry directing the sequel of Gone Girl as “Girl, I thought you were gone.” Hilarious!
It was then time to show off some skin! Couldn’t get enough of Jennifer Aniston‘s legs or Jennifer Lopez‘s cleavage. Obviously Jeremy Renner felt the same. When J.Lo said she’d open the winner’s envelope because she had the nails, Jeremy pointed out that she “had the globes” too. Naughty boy.
Onto the winners! We loved that Gina Rodriguez won Best Actress, TV. This lovely lady embodies everything a DivaGal is about: she’s classy, graceful, well spoken and proud of her heritage, and still added a touch of humility to her speech.
John Legend and Common won Best Original song for Selma‘s “Glory.” Common gave some powerful spoken word on how we are all the men and women who fought and died for our civil rights; the young black men who have died from a bullet, the cops who were murdered in the line of duty in New York City. He made it clear that our fight still continues.
Me and my fellow gals all swooned a bit when Birdman screenplay winner Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (pictured above) rattled off the names of his fellow writers. He can come say those names at our place anytime!
Wasn’t it sweet how George Clooney said he didn’t know what alchemy brought him and new wife Amal together, but he was happy to be her husband. Awwww!
