TV DIVAGAL’s TV Show To Watch: Golden Globes 2012– What They’ll Be Eating!By DIVAGALS | January 13, 2012 | Entertainment
The DivaGals are pulling out our couture gowns for our Golden Globes 2012 party Sunday night. We’re also planning our menu (hummus, wontons and brownies, please!) But what will the stars be eating the night of the show?
According to the Beverly Hilton, where the awards ceremony has taken place the last 37 years, Hotel Chef Suki Sugiura and Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Henzi are whipping up quite the menu.
There’s an appetizer of pistachio crusted pistou ravioli with wild arugula, smoked tomato, kabocha compote and burrata; a combination entrée of miso and sake lees marinated Pacific sea bass with grilled king oyster mushroom and braised prime short rib of beef with porcini pine nut herb ragout in a light cream of sherry wine ginger tamari sauce; roasted fingerling potatoes, candy striped beets, baby bok choy and yellow baby carrots followed by a dessert trio of chocolate delice almond crunch terrine with acacia honey, caramel and fresh berries which pairs deliciously with the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2002!
The chefs wanted to “harmonize the local ingredients from California with universal flavors synonymous with the excitement of the international awards show,” says Executive Chef Sugiura. The menu took six months to plan and nearly 200 people to prepare it.
“I saw first-hand how the chocolate melts in their mouths, not in their hands seconds before show time and requests for second helpings between commercial breaks,” share pastry guru Henzi. Celebrities ask for seconds?
