When you’ve got 19 returning shows on your fall TV calendar – including our new fave 2 Broke Girls – why even bother with new programming? Because you can! Here are the new shows you’ll want to watch on CBS.
Elementary (Thursdays, 10 p.m.)
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. This modern-day twist on the Sherlock Holmes tale features a female Watson (Lucy Liu) and the same peculiar detective who brilliantly solves crimes.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. Three words: Jonny. Lee. Miller. There’s always been something compellingly mysterious about this actor. Now he’s playing the equally inexplicable Holmes – with an English accent to boot. We’ll watch just to see how he solves the crime – of delivering such devilishly good lines.
Made In Jersey (Fridays, 9 p.m.)
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. A Jersey gal crosses the river to prosecute those who do wrong on the streets of New York City.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. When it’s coming from Jersey, you know it’s going to be loud, outspoken and in charge. Luckily, newcomer star Janet Montgomery‘s Martina Garretti is also smart, sassy and beautiful – a combination that makes you want her to be on your side of the courtroom.
Partners (Mondays, 8:30 p.m.)
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. Two buddies and business partners – one straight and one gay — make being BFFs a destination sport.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. This is based on the true friendship of TV producers David Kohan and Max Mutchnick who created Will and Grace. Joe and Louis have significant others, but that doesn’t stop their bromance from being their most important coupling. The show looks sappy and sweet, and is a perfect addition to our Monday comedy lineup of HIMYM and 2 Broke Girls. It’s also great to see Ugly Betty alum Michael Urie back on TV!
