Cinco de Mayo may be behind us, but there is no reason to let the party end.
On a balmy Thursday night, I found myself with a hunger for some tasty tacos. I called up a friend and invited him to join me at┬áTommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar on Fifth Ave. You may know of the company’s island coastal lifestyle clothing brand for men and women. But at some locations, you can actually dine, Tommy Bahama style!
In the breezy dining room that boasts island décor and banquet seating with throw pillows, we started with an order of Baja Margaritas, made with Sauza Conmemorativo, Cointreau, Grand Marnier and scratch sour.
Looking over the menu, I know one entr├⌐e just wouldn’t be enough ΓÇô so I turned my meal into a double-appetizer bonanza. My guest and I shared an order of the Crispy Calamari, made with citrus chile and topped with toasted sesame and sriracha a├»oli. And then it was an order of Tommy Bahamas famous Ahi Tuna Tacos. Ahh is right! I loved the Asian slaw and wasabi topping that made these hit just the right spot.
My dinner guest got adventurous, ordering the Jerk Pork Tenderloin. As he dug into his side of sweet corn polenta, I knew I had to ask … for a bite!
