With only 12 more days till Christmas, Fitness Gal is breaking down your daily plan to stay healthy and fit during the holidays!
The tremendous amount of energy thatΓÇÖs needed during the holiday season is endless.
There’s the shopping, budgeting, web searching, decorating, cooking, planning, partying and gift giving… did I mention decorating? Whew!
For those who have children, Fitness Gal can only image the level of energy you need to match their excitement as they impatiently wait to tear apart their gifts. Just hanging out with my niece makes me want to store as much energy as possible.
We truly need sustained energy to help us make the right decisions about all that goes into making this the happiest time of year. And that’s why on Day 1 of The 12 Days of Fitness, you need to know this:
DONΓÇÖT SKIP BREAKFAST. I used to think that skipping breakfast would help me lose weight, but come lunch time I couldnΓÇÖt wait to order a greasy turkey burger (thinking IΓÇÖm being healthy) with cheese, plus a large order of French fries along with a huge sugary drink, followed by a even more sugary snack, ugh.
I couldnΓÇÖt stop myself, and it wasnΓÇÖt pleasant watching how fast I swallowed my lunch — there was no chewing. After polluting my body like that I felt sluggish, and being productive was unheard of. Skipping breakfast spun me out of control and left me craving everything bad.
I am much smarter now. I never skip breakfast ΓÇô- I grab a bowl of oatmeal, add a banana and sprinkle a little protein powder on top. The result? Outrageous energy for the day.
So refuel your body a few times each day starting with breakfast.
Tune in every day for a new Fitness Gal holiday fitness tip right up to Christmas Day!
