Hot new shapewear, your body beautiful plan, the perfect facial cleanser and easy airbrush makeup!
WEAR. Of course, looking fabulous all begins with what you put underneath. The DivaGals got a sneak peek at the new collection from Nearly Nude, shapewear from Australian designer Lucy Hosken, at a private luncheon viewing. Lucy herself showcased the capsule collection, which is being launched in the U.S. market for the first time, and explained its different levels of control. There’s Smoothing Cotton, the collection’s everyday pieces like tanks, briefs, slips and thongs. “It’s shapewear that holds you in, but they’re beautiful basics,” Lucy shared. Indeed, if you had to exit your house quickly in only your underwear, you wouldn’t mind being caught in these! Next was the Firming Microfiber, which includes camisoles and slips edged in lace. “We added that to make it something more sophisticated and pretty.” Lucy also found a way to dress up a high-waist brief ΓÇô or knickers as she likes to call them ΓÇô turning it into the perfect Bridget Jones’ granny-panty foil. The Ultra Firming Seamless design (the company’s logo is embossed into the pieces) is for the “red carpet, special occasion and silk dresses you’re wearing; they offer more power and are supercomfy,” Lucy exclaimed. The collection’s sizes range from small to 1x (and we hear there’s talk of a 2X launch), and come in shades of white, blush, tan, black and grey. Here’s the hard part: the line won’t be available until late July. You can still experience Lucy’s fantastic designs by visiting the Australian-based Nearly Nude e-commerce site. They make international deliveries. See more from the private screening here. (Style Gals)
SWEAT. Flipping out over the thought of having to wear skimpy sundresses and revealing bikinis in just a few weeks? Celebrity trainer Kacy Duke (she’s worked out Julianne Moore), has put out a new workout DVD:┬á I Am, I Can, I Do Body Breakthrough. Her motto? Celebrate the body you have and get the body you want. “Every woman’s body can look pretty, whether you’re a large size woman or a skinny minny,” Kacy told us during her DVD release party inside New York City’s chic nightclub La Pomme. “You have to have self love first, then you go about transforming it.” Her DVD, based on her more than 20 years’ experience as a personal trainer, is “all about using things you have in your home — a broomstick, light weights, a chair — and pumping and elongating the muscles to create beautiful lines.” It’s obviously worked for Kacy, who rocked the night away in a body hugging Dolce & Gabbana sheath dress with sky-high Victor DeSouza magenta pumps. After seeing her in that ΓÇô and learning the woman featured in the video, floral designer and client Emma lost 30 pounds with a similar routine, we’re sold. CLEANSE. For combination skin with occasional breakouts in the T-zone, the Loreal Go 360 Deep Cream Cleanser is the perfect alternative to the foam cleanser we normally use to wash off makeup. After using the cleanser and scrublet, we applied our daily night lotions and went to bed. The next morning our faces looked visibly brighter and clearer, so clear that friends even commented on how good our skin looked! For more information on the product, which is sold at local drugstores and online, check out our sister site rockthelook.com. (Style Gals)
PAINT. We know that celebrities get their flawless faces thanks to airbrushing. And while we’re not exactly interested in setting up an apparatus in our own home, we’d still love to achieve the look. That’s why we were so happy to discover RETOUCH Foundation by Temptu ΓÇô the official makeup used at the Herve Leger fashion presentation during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week last month. One squeeze of the portable and sleek black cylinder’s handle serves up a face worth of foundation on the built-in applicator, which you then paint on your face for a mess-free finish. What’s even more amazing is the brand’s customer service. We encountered a technical glitch while trying to place our online order. Not only did our service rep Allison empathize with our woes, she solved the problem on the site’s side, and then called us up to walk us through the corrected screen. Now that’s a flawless finish! Our one suggestion, Temptu? Create more shades of brown for our Ebony-hued chocolate divas! Temptu’s RETOUCH Foundation retails for $47 and is available online at their website. (Style Gals)
