ABC Press Tour Summer ΓÇÖ17! Why Daniel Dae Kim Is Perfectly Content Behind The Scenes at The Good DoctorBy Delaina Dixon | August 6, 2017 | Entertainment
We’re sure there were tears shed when Daniel Dae Kim left CBS’ Hawaii Five-O after seven seasons on CBS. “All good things come to end,” he surmised at The Doctor’s press panel.
Daniel is now with the cast on The Good Doctor, the series that chronicles the life of Dr. Shawn Murphy, a doctor in residency who happens to have autism. But – and here’s the catch – in this new show, Daniel is working behind the scenes as an executive producer.
He explained, “I’m very proud to be a part of this show. I saw after it aired in Korea (where it originated as a series) and I loved the message of it.”
Daniel then brought the concept to the U.S. and partnered with an amazing cast and team. He stressed “I’m really content being behind the scenes of this show. I’m constantly impressed by the performances I see. And it’s fascinating to watch as producer.”
Awww man – but what about being in front of the camera again?
“At some point, I’d love to play with them. It would be a nice opportunity,” he shared.
Thank goodness! We’d hate to see all that talent and good looks go to waste – thank goodness we have Hill Harper in the series to keep a smile on our faces!
The Good Doctor premieres Monday, Sept. 25 on ABC.
