If you love Adidas and live in one of the cities below, you are so in luck! Adidas Cornerstone Community is partnering with five BIPOC-owned retailers nationwide to celebrate Black History Month and give flowers to Black women leaders who positively impact their communities. These amazing women are being honored through the brand’s Honoring Black Excellence (HBE) initiative, which recognizes the extraordinary achievements of Black individuals, communities and culture through education, inspiration and authentic storytelling.
The first event kicks off in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 10 at SNEEX + CLICKS. Dannette Justus, who promotes literacy and reading skills in the state, will be recognized with a celebratory event/dinner alongside 30 other community leaders who have also made significant contributions to Milwaukee.

LDRS in Chicago, Illinois (Feb 23 – 25) will honor Veronica Peterson, founder of FlashHoops, a mobile platform that helps children learn math while receiving one-on-one basketball skill training from their favorite athlete. They’ll also host a jam-packed three-day event featuring a basketball tournament, panels and an immersive workforce development experience that will upskill and provide community members with new opportunities.
Premium Goods in Houston, Texas (February 23) will honor Adia Dightman, a trail rider whose grandfather is hailed as the “Jackie Robinson of the Rodeo,” and produce a short biopic on the history, current state and future of the 1st black trail riding rodeo team. The biopic will also spotlight Adia and the three trail boss ladies who lead the team today.
WISH in Atlanta, Georgia (February 24) will honor Aeshia DeVore, founder and CEO of PreBy Girl Sweat, and host an event that will feature a trainer-led workout session, a set from a local DJ, healthy refreshments and bites from Local Green Atlanta, and an educational workshop on how to make fitness and health fun, accessible and affordable.
GB Sneakers in Queens, New York (February) will honor Grace Lekan Lamour, a licensed Mental Health Counselor who focuses on self-confidence and self-perception, and host a workshop on self-love and positive affirmations for students of Girls on the Run (NYC) led by Grace.
