Totally retro! credit: Syfy
In Alice in Wonderland, little Alice had to experience a strange world dressed in a powder blue smocked apron dress. Quel horror!
Thank goodness in Alice, Syfy’s grown-up rendition of the children’s classic, she finally gets a style makeover!
“The costume design on this film was really fantastic,” Caterina Scorsone, who plays the title role, told TV DivaGal during a private screening of the miniseries at New York City’s Cooper Square Hotel. (Fashion Gal would be so proud!)
Under the direction of Academy award-winning costume designer Angus Strathie, Alice and the rest of the cast channel a decade past.
“It’s a bit of a sixties vibe,” Caterina shared. “Alice is still wearing the blue dress, but it’s a mini a la supermodel Twiggy.”
Screen legend Catherine Deneuve was inspiration behind Alice’s do.
“Alice’s got Belle du Jour hair,” Caterina said.
And we totally approve!
Alice, the two-night miniseries, premieres Sunday, Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. on Syfy.
