Ashton Kutcher‘s new series, The Beautiful Life, will explore the “ugly side of modeling,” something he knows about firsthand.
“There are ugly stories,” said the former model-turned-actor-turned-the series uber-exectuive producer, who recalled the agony of go-sees from his own portfolio days.
“It’s an industry of the mere superficiality of looks. I would get to a casting call and we all sort of looked the same. And I could never figure out why he got the job and I didn’t.”
Obviously they were blind, Ashton. BLIND!
The Beautiful Life will also incorporate the real-life fashion scene in New York City, where the show is currently shooting.
“We’re integrating a lot of people from the fashion industry like Zac Posen, and we’re actually shooting a Calvin Klein campaign inside the store,” he revealed.
“We’re reaching out and embracing the fashion industry and bringing them into the show, so maybe we can be part of the trend and integrate into the show what the next styles are going to be.”
