MTV Awkward.: Star Jillian Rose Reed and Finale Secrets!

Awkward. is the MTV TV series based around 16-year-old Jenna Hamilton, and her embarrassing life after a personal mishap is mistaken for a suicide attempt. Jenna’s best friend Tamara, played by Jillian Rose Reed, helps her through her social troubles and boy problems. The season one finale airs tonight, and for the occasion, DivaGals’ guest contributor Danielle Corcione interviewed Jillian to get the scoop on the episode, and Jillian she thinks about her onscreen alter ego.
Question: The finale airs tonight! What will be going down on this season’s last episode?
Jillian: The season finale of Awkward. takes place at the school dance! So along with pretty dresses and cute boys, there will also be some drama! I’m not sure who Jenna will end up with, but I can tell you there will be some more Tamara and Ricky Schwartz craziness!
Q: How has Awkward. been different from any other experience for you as an actress?
Jillian: I think that itΓÇÖs been different because IΓÇÖm a regular in the series, and I have an amazing experience bonding with the cast.
Q: How do you compare and contrast with your character Tamara?
Jillian: I love playing her! There are a lot of similarities: SheΓÇÖs carefree, free spirited and adventurous. She also doesnΓÇÖt censor her attitude.
Q: What do you enjoy most about playing Tamara?
Jillian: She has the funny quirky lines. She says crazy things, and I love it!
Q: What are your plans after Awkward.? Will there be a season two?
Jillian: The cast and I are preparing for season two.┬á I did a Disney show, Pair of Kings. I also work with the American Diabetes Association Los Angeles. I’m going to be a guest speaker for their StepOut Walk this Sunday, Oct. 2.
Q: How would you describe your own personal style?
Jillian: I describe my style as funky and Bohemian with an edge. My favorite things to wear are my combat boots and girly dresses. I think out the box.
Q: What are your favorite places to shop?
Jillian: IΓÇÖm huge fan of Urban Outfitters, Free People, Anthropologie and Forever 21.
Q: WhatΓÇÖs your favorite brands of make-up?
Jillian: My favorite make-up is definitely Bare Minerals foundation. It doesnΓÇÖt clog pores, but covers my skin the right way.
