What Is Brooklyn Chop House?

Brooklyn Chop House is part of the largest Black majority-owned restaurant group, with owners Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins, Dave Thomas and director of operations, Stratis Morfogen. Walking into Brooklyn Chop House, you’ll be in awe of its sheer size. The 25,000 square feet venue has been designed in dreamy shades of red and orange with a subtle Asian vibe. It can hold up to 660 guests between five floors, and it features six private dining rooms and three bars. By the end of summer, Brooklyn Chop House Times Square will premiere an NFT Members-Only subcellar. It’s become quite the hot spot on any given night, as seen by the A-list guest list at their grand opening in April 2022.

What’s On the Brooklyn Chop House Times Square Menu?

The next thing you’ll be in awe of is Brooklyn Chop House’s substantial menu. There are appetizers, salads, soups, small plates, mains and an entire section devoted to steak (it is called Chop House, after all!). You may be wondering where to start. We say, start with the dumplings and satays!

Dumplings & Satay

Fun fact: Brooklyn Chop House sells 300-plus orders of chicken satay a day. And for good reason, the restaurant’s peanut sauce is divine. It’s not too sweet or tart. We tried it over the lobster satay, which was perfectly seared.

We don’t talk about dumplings unless we are at Brooklyn Chop House! That’s because they are so inventive with their fillings. You can have a bacon cheeseburger dumpling, along with several plant-based dumplings that you’ll swear taste like meat. We stayed classic and ordered the lamb “gyro” dumplings, which are hearty bites of seasoned meat inside a chewy dough.

Salads, Soups & Small Plates

You can choose from a variety of Asian-inspired salads and soups. Small plates include the short rib bao buns. Their tarty aftertaste wasn’t quite our cup of tea, but we loved the lightness of the bun.

Steak & Chops

Yes, there are other main dishes on Brooklyn Chop House’s menu, but we say go straight for the steak. Our rib eye was served medium, with just the right amount of sear and juice. One piece was a little saltier than the others, which I loved, but the rest was just right.

Frosé!

The temperature is heating up, so you have to Frosé! These slushy frozen delights are perfect for summer sipping. And yes, there is one that is above all, at least in our minds. The Lychee is blended lychees, coconut cream, Maison Marcel rose wine and Grey Goose vodka. If you want to get funky, get it mixed with the Red Velvet.
