Best Stores and Streets To Shop And Eat In NYC (A Famous Movie Was Shot At One!)

PattyOnSite shares some of her fave NYC spots to window shop – and really eat!

New York City has wonderful and interesting landmarks: Empire State Building; Statue of Liberty – the city of Brooklyn!

But to me, eating and shopping are the major key must dos for any NYC vacation itinerary.

I have lived in New York City for more than ten years, and the shops and street vendors still amaze me. One of my favorite activities is to walk up Madison and Fifth Avenues to absorb the clever and creative window displays. Now, the key to this activity is doing it at night! The glow from the window lights enhance the beauty of New York City retail.

The best part of window shopping at night is the amount of pedestrians is almost null, so you can take it in at your own pace without bumping into people.

Here are some of my favorite spots to check out:

Bergdorf Goodman. You can see the men and womenΓÇÖs displays ΓÇô so worth it!

Barneys New York. Always a creative treasure, like this past holiday display. Take your time to notice every inspirational detail.

Coach. The flagship on Madison Ave. has really upscaled their window game.

Tiffany & Co. For Breakfast At TiffanyΓÇÖs fans, this is a must-see (visit the exterior brownstone where the movie was shot in 1961). The windows always dazzle with the glistening reflections of diamonds ΓÇô and now Zoe Kravitz has a collection.

I highly recommend strolling over to Amsterdam Ave to visit the engaging vintage store More & More Antiques. The store has a wide variety of worldwide knicks & knacks and unique designers fashion item, from gorgeous scarves which are generous in size, to colorful jeweled bracelets. More and More Antiques is worth the trip to the West Side.

After shopping, check out my new favorite restaurant spot, e’s Bar at 511 Amsterdam Ave (pictured up top).

Walking in you know this place is going to be fun: super comfy booths, charming wait staff and bartenders and, I might add, a cute clean stylish bathroom. eΓÇÖs Bar hits all the marks with a bonus of Classic Hollywood and music nostalgia.

I measure the food at a restaurant by the mac & cheese and the ice cream sundaes. Well eΓÇÖs Bar has both: Creamy cheesy mac & cheese with pieces of bacon that make it that much tastier. The eΓÇÖs Bar Brownie Sundae is stuff that dreams are made of. Every scoop is a delight and the brownie does not hurt one bit! Suitable for sharing — but this is one time which I don’t want to share!

The burgers are pretty much the best! What makes eΓÇÖBarΓÇÖs burgers so yummy is their signature sauce. It has that extra punch which enables the full flavor of the meat to satisfy your taste buds.
