Beyond the Gates on CBS Review: First New Soap in 25 Years
By The DivaGals | February 25, 2025 | Celebrity & Culture
Let’s discuss CBS’s new soap opera, Beyond the Gates! This ain’t your grandma’s SOAP This show brings drama, glamour and Black elegance to daytime television in a way we haven’t seen before.
The cast is gorgeous! Icons Tamara Tunie and Clifton Davis are matriarchs and patriarchs. You’ll recognize Karla Mosley (Guiding Light) and Daphnée Duplaix (One Life to Live) as their daughters. They bring the sass and sophistication. And let’s not forget the younger generation, bringing the sexy back with their fresh faces.
The plots are juicy. There are enough catfights, illicit loves and family secrets to keep us occupied for months. It all takes place in a gated, wealthy enclave in a D.C.
Beyond the Gates is more than just scandalous encounters and attractive faces. It’s about finding your place in the world, family, and ambition. It’s about honoring Black joy and resiliency while negotiating privilege and duty.
Let’s step inside the gates and give this show the attention it deserves. It’s a must-watch, and let’s see where it takes us.
Watch Monday – Friday at 2 p.m. on CBS or Paramount+.
