Biggest Loser Alums Phil and Amy Parham: Weighing In On MarriageBy Delaina Dixon | June 22, 2010 | Entertainment
No one said life after The Biggest Loser was easy.
One of the first things Phil and Amy Parham, who lost a combined total of 256 lbs. on The Biggest Loser in season six, did when they got back home was take a long hard look at their marriage.
“Losing the weight makes you question everything, like did I settle in my life and in my marriage,” Amy shares candidly with the TV DivaGal.
“Luckily, we made it through,” says Phil of their 22-year union.
The couple has taken the lessons they’ve learned and put them in a new book, The-90 Day Fitness Challenge, to help others get on the road of losing weight and taking charge of their lives, one day at a time.
Like Day 47: Get Rid of The Junk. “I love ice-cream,” Amy admits. But with a little head adjustment, she’s turned peanut butter mixed into calcium-rich yogurt into a favorite treat.
To Activate Your Body, Phil suggests that people who are exercising for the first time get sized for shoes. “They buy a pair and have no idea what kind of support they need for fallen arches or heel spurs and then they have pain and give up,” Phil says. Getting the right pair of shoes keeps the program on track.
That doesn’t mean Phil and Amy restrict themselves all the time. “We had a sandwich and chips for lunch,” Phil confesses.
“We just split it between the two of us,” Amy says.
