Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon: Working With Scorsese!
By Delaina Dixon | March 18, 2010 | EntertainmentNow that he’s fresh off his guy-liner wearing stint as punk rock record producer Kim Fowley in The Runways — the biopic tale opening Friday of the first all-girl rock band co-founded by a 15 year-old Joan Jett in 1975 — Michael Shannon is getting busy on the pier during the Prohibition era with Martin Scorsese in Boardwalk Empire.
Michael admits he didn’t get a lot of one-on-one time with the uber-director, who is helming the new HBO series.
“There’s a lot of big group scenes,” Michael says, “On average he was dealing with like 100 people running around.”
Still, it was cool to watch Martin do his thing. “I loved watching him compose his shots and camera moving,” Michael shares. “He had to orchestrate these massive pictures. That’s what I enjoyed more than anything.”
