Angela Bassett Breaks Through To Her Newest Role!By Tsadiqwah | December 7, 2015 | Gals On The Town
If you haven’t been watching Nat Geo’s riveting series Breakthrough, you are missing out! This #MainEventMonday we introduce you to the episode brought to you by American Horror Story star┬áAngela Bassett!
We all know Miss Angela for her no guts, no glory-can’t keep a strong woman down-breakthrough role as Tina Turner in the 1990s classic film, What’s Love Got To Do With It. This time, the hollywood visionary is shooting for the stars in her second director’s debut, and it’s called┬á BREAKTHROUGH.
Presented by The National Geographic Channel and General Electric, this docu-series is worlds apart from the Lifetime biopic Whitney, directed by Bassett earlier this year. The six part series is a collaborative mission by six scientists who takes us on a journey to answer age-old questions like: What makes us who we are and can we change? Or what is technology doing to us and what are we doing to it?
BREAKTHROUGH explores the cutting-edge discoveries behind brain science,┬á longevity, water, energy, pandemics and cyborg technology, but for Bassett the focus is on the apocalypse of our water supply. With 97 percent of the world’s water supply being salty, 2 percent of it being ice and 1 percent unusable, the extreme water shortage challenges us to conserve our resources and the people working to change the world.
BREAKTHROUGH, Water Apocalypse airs Sunday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. on NGC. Want to catch up on other episodes? Visit nationalgeographicchannel.com for tons of content.
