Brooklyn Bound contributor Tsadiqwah Scarville hits SOURCE360 for the Ashley Stewart fashion show.

After more than two decades of being a champion voice for hip-hop music, politics and culture, I was honored to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Source magazine in a major way! The first annual SOURCE360 Music, Art and Culture Expo was a big hit and a great succession since the glory days of BETΓÇÖs uplifting Teen Summit show.

The three day commemoration took place in no other than Brooklyn, New YorkΓÇÖs cultural domain and the home of hip-hop culture. The Barclays Center and Brooklyn Academy of Music, as well as other BK institutions, hosted all the action! Events ranged from concerts with hip-hop legends such as the Queen of Hip Hop, BrooklynΓÇÖs own Lil Kim, digital and sporting trade shows and panel discussions with industry heavy hitters from Def Jam music, to a special film festival highlighting documentaries and biopics from icons like Nas, and even an exclusive SOURCE sneaker summit for all you sneaker heads!

I got a first-hand look at the new fall wear from Ashley Stewart designs presented by HERSOURCE! Full-figured models worked the runway in flattering bodycon dresses, stretch leather, two-piece crop top sets, printed skinny jeans and everything in between that sparkle and shimmer! Ashley Stewart Marketing Executive Tamara Ivey says itΓÇÖs important for the boutique to be a part of a hip-hop event and not just put together a standard fashion show.
