Celebrity Fit Club is back! VH1’s Boot Camp series commences tomorrow for a new crop of stars who have let themselves go from fab to flab.
This season life coach extraordinaire Rhonda Britten has joined the makeover experts to help these chubby celebs, from R&B bad boy Bobby Brown to ’80s hair-band icon Sebastian Bach, not only shed their excess weight, but their emotional baggage as well.
“When people don’t feel safe ΓÇô they feel exposed or vulnerable ΓÇô they gain weight to protect themselves,” Rhonda shares with the TV DivaGal. “I’m helping them recognize the value of their body and teach them how to take out their sadness and frustration in other ways.”
Rhonda uses group and one-on-one sessions, as well as exercises to help them accomplish their goals, like focusing on a piece of clothing they’ll wear when they drop the excess weight. “You get that piece of clothing and all these judgments come up, ‘I’ll never be able to wear that or be thin again.’ What comes through your brain and those things you feel are points igniting the real problem.”
Also fighting the battle of the bugle is actress Shar Jackson beside dancer and her baby daddy Kevin Federline, the man who also fathered ex-wife Britney Spears‘ two sons. That could make the strongest woman run for cover under a double fudge sundae, but Rhonda’s right there to help Shar and Kevin work through their differences.
“We’re going to see that play out the show,” Rhonda shares. “They get opportunities that they haven’t had to get through healing their past pains.”
That’s 200lbs. off Shar’s back, easily.
