Cut Out The Sugar Today Style!

The DivaGals love a good challenge. So when we heard of the Today show’s no-sugar for 10 days challenge, we had to get on board.

Spearheaded by Today show nutritionist Joy Bauer, who shared that average American consumes approximately 22 teaspoons of added sugar per day from sugary beverages, cookies, cakes, candies and even condiments like ketchup and salad dressings, it’s taking a toll on our health and our waistlines, which is definitely NOT Gal Approved!

So Joy is getting everyone at the Today show to give up sweets for 10 days. That means no sugar, honey, maple syrup or even calorie-free sweeteners. Only the natural sugars found in fruits are allowed. But get this — we can have a glass of wine every night, and that’s Divalicious!

Today anchor Tamron Hall admitted that giving up candy would be her vice, and Joy gave a great suggestion — prep a plate of cut up veggies and fruit. It gives the feeling of popping endless candies without the sugar rush.

Joy also shared a bunch of no-sugar and natural sugar-only great recipes to replace other faces like cookies and ice-cream.
