DISHING DIVA: Les Miserables’ Aaron Tveit WON’T Sing on Graceland!By Delaina Dixon | June 6, 2013 | Dish!, Entertainment
Don’t expect to see Aaron Tveit belting out a tune on the new series Graceland, premiering tonight on USA.
The Next to Normal Broadway vet and Les Mis├⌐rables movie star says that his character, FBI agent Mike Warren, “cannot sing,” which he revealed at a premiere press screening of the new series in Rockefeller’s Center Studio 8H (where Saturday Night Live is shot), inside Rockefeller Center. Of course, the DivaGals were there! Adds co-star and Smash alum Daniel Sunjata, it’s “season eight for the musical episode.”
Aaron may not be singing, but he’s pretty good a wielding a gun as a newly-minted FBI agent who’s sent to work undercover in Los Angeles, where he co-habitates with several other governmental agents in a house called Graceland.
His would-be mentor Paul Briggs, played by Daniel, isn’t the button-up model official Mike expected, which is blamed on a yet-to-be-revealed incident.
It’s only Mike’s first day, but in that first 24 hours, he has to go undercover in a drug deal, which leads him to go even further undercover in a life-or-death scenario. It’s this storyline that truly pulls you in, wondering if day one could be Mike’s last.
Aaron’s perfectly cast as the bright-eyed newbie who’s eager to dive right into his FBI work, only to learn that surviving undercover work takes a lot more than scoring high on your FBI practical. There’s a not-so-subtle hint that he could be finding love in Graceland with fellow agent, which we’re totally down for. And we’ve got to know what triggered Briggs’ personality change; we’re sure it’s intense.
Graceland premieres Thursday, June 6 at 9 p.m. on USA.
