DISHING DIVA! Where Cast of Carrie Diaries Gets their ’80s Facts (Just Call Him Daddy!)

The teen and early 20-something cast of The Carrie Diaries ΓÇô Candace Bushnell’s Sex and the City prequel ΓÇô don’t go far to get their ’80s facts straight. Though he’s only 42, Matt Letscher, who plays Carrie’s onscreen dad Tom, lived through the 1980s, so he’s become their living Google!

“They’ll approach me and ask me what was the eighties like, and I’m like it was a magical time and we all rode horses,” he told us with a chuckle at the series season two premiere party, hosted by BONGO at Gansevoort Park hotel in NYC.

Being there living sage doesn’t bother Matt, though he does have to be careful about his references from that totally rad era. “I’ll say, ‘I used to watch that Love Boat/Fantasy Island combo on Saturday nights,’ and they’ll look at me like ΓÇô what in god’s name are you talking about. They have no idea,” he laughed. “While it’s fun to know to know more about it, it does make me feel older.”

Well Matt, you certainly don’t look it!

The Carrie Diaries returns Friday, October 25 on The CW.
