DIVA BOYS: Sundance Festival 2012 Adventure – Part II VIDEO!
By Diva Boys | February 1, 2012 | Entertainment
Our resident Diva Boys, Chris and Destin, are back on the Sundance scene for Part II!
The next morning we arrived where the action is — Park City, Utah, elevation: 7,000ft! The Sundance Festival boutique is buzzing with sales. We got awesome logo keychains, coffee mugs and t-shirts. Of course, for the celebs, it’s all about the gifting! Luckily, we’re Diva Boys, so we were on the VIP list for the VEVO Powerstation/Sorel Boots guest suite!
We ducked into a chic building on Main St. to escape the snow and chatted first with Derrin Woodhouse, VEVO’s VP of Marketing, who introduced us to the VEVO video app that takes your playlists, finds the corresponding music video and streams it high-quality to your device. Pretty cool! In an instant, we were watching Madonna videos from my personal playlist! It was on to Sorel Boots. The brand, which has been around 1962, is committed to creating footwear for the fearless. We scored coupons to get a pair wholesale, Sweet!
We sipped on (lots !)of vodka drinks and ate tasty sliders provided by FUKU burgers before heading back down the main drag, where lots of paparazzi were following Harvey Weinstein, Tommy Lee and Richard Gere. We could have seen Richard GereΓÇÖs movie, Arbitrage, but it was playing in another city called Ogden, and we had to get back to see V/H/S, another slasher-flick, back at Salt Lake City’s Tower Theatre.
The second film in the same category from the night before, V/H/S was really graphic and gory and gross, but I just couldnΓÇÖt help thinking I was watching a fancy version of The Ring meets The Blair Witch Project, two horror movies I didnΓÇÖt really like to begin with! But, hey, it was a sold-out event and we both screamed in terror a few times.
With the evening’s film a bit of a bust, we went for sushi around the corner from the hotel. LetΓÇÖs just say it was FABULOUS! Run, donΓÇÖt walk to Takashi for the best sushi in the west! Get lucky like we did and sit at the bar to chat with Takashi himself. He will recommend some delicious Nigiri if you desire!
Hot sake and supple sushi; what a way to end our whirlwind tour of Sundance Film Festival 2012!
