DIVA DISH! Issa Rae Joining The Flight Attendant, Season 3? Griffin Matthews Spills All!

Divas! If you’re like us, you’re hooked on the second season of The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. The Big Bang Theory aluhttps://fb.watch/cM18pCGhnE/m Kaley Cuoco stars as Cassie, a recovering alcoholic-turned-CIA operative who always seems to cross her line of responsibility. Her good pal Shane is also a CIA agent, which we learned at the end of season one. We don’t know much about Shane, but Griffin Matthews, who plays the role, is ready to change that.

“I really want Isaa Rae to play my sister,” he declared to the DivaGals at The Flight Attendant premiere party, hosted at TWA Hotel at JFK Airport. “Isa and I talked about it on set for Roar, and she was like, yes, I’ll come play your sister, tell them to call me.”

This wouldn’t be too far of a stretch — Issa is already a part of the HBO family. What if her Insecure character Issa Dee was actually in the CIA too? It could be the family business!

One of the reasons Matthews is eager for Shane to have a sister is because that means we get to go home with him. He recalled legendary choreographer and actress Debbie Allen telling him she could never win acting awards for Fame because we never went home with Lydia Grant, who she portrayed on the drama series.

“The idea of playing a CIA agent, your friends and family don’t know that you’re in the CIA — is that [Shane’s] real apartment? Are those his real clothes? Like you don’t know how far the gig is going,” Matthews explained. “So I want to go home with Shane. I want to see with the full extent of who he is when the doors are closed.”
