In the aftermath of FOX’s not-so-live version of Rent receiving the lowest ratings of a staged TV musical, NBC has chosen not to move forward with its upcoming live production of Hair. “Live musicals are a part of this networkΓÇÖs DNA and we are committed to continuing that tradition with the right show at the right time,” NBC brass released in a statement. “Since these shows are such enormous undertakings, we need titles that have a wide appeal and weΓÇÖre in the process of acquiring the rights to a couple of new shows that weΓÇÖre really excited about.”
