“It’s six weeks post-partum and I can finally say we have some kind of sleep pattern going. Getting up every 1.5-2hrs a night is starting to normalize… kinda.
I received the all-clear from the OB to go back to exercising, and I’m missing the gym like crazy and want to get my strength back ASAP but before going HAM I’m putting my focus on the following important habits:
Sleep: It’s absolutely imperative to get a healthy amount of sleep to thrive physically and mentally and keep cortisol and blood sugar levels stable. It’s going to be a minute before I’ll get a good six an seven hours continuous sleep, but over time we’ll establish a routine that gives me the sleep I need to stay healthy and build in the gym #thepowerofsleep 💪💪💪
Meal Consideration: Yes, it’s about feeding baby. But I’m also making sure I have the food available to be constantly eating. If I’m not reminded I don’t really remember to eat, which is a major no-no. Does anyone else go through this?
Blood Work: If you don’t get your blood work checked regularly, you really should. I’m waiting on my results to see where I currently am after having a baby. I want to work on getting stronger and leaner, none of which will happen if internally I’m a hot mess. I’m looking to get a comprehensive female hormonal panel to get a baseline of where I’m at.
WORKOUTS! I’m starting a “back to exercise” program on Monday from mamastefit.com slowly progressing back to heavy lifting.
