DIVA DISH! OSCARS’ 91st Is A Night For Diversity and Women!By The DivaGals | February 25, 2019 | Dish!
Congrats to last night’s winners! Bohemian Rhapsody got four wins while Green Book, Roma and Black Panther each had three honors.
We celebrate with our own personal favorites Regina King, who won Best Supporting Actress, and best dressed! Ruth Carter and Hannah Beachler took home awards for their costume design and production design on Black Panther, respectively, with Hannah being the first African-American woman to win the category. Her speech was moving.
Mahershala Ali and Rami Malek took home the awards for Best Supporting and Lead Actors, proving that diversity in movies is a good thing. The director of Roma Alfonso Cuaron won three out of his four awards and who can forget Spike Lee’s epic win for his screenplay, blackkklansman, though many believe his award is about 33 years late.
A special shout out to Canadian breakout star Stephan James of If Beale Street Could Talk.
