A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of attending an inaugural DEI event: AIMM GrowthFronts. ANA AIMM, led by Industry leaders, Lisette Arsuaga, Gilbert Davila and Carlos Santiago, the co-founders of AIMM, coordinated an industry-first. At the event, AIMM introduced its membership of top national brands and major advertisers to diverse-owned and targeted media entities at an event structurally similar to the Network Upfronts—without the price tag and glitz of a traditional media upfront. Historically the high price has made participation for most diverse-owned media entities nearly impossible. The goal ultimately is to increase the investment levels in these entities while connecting advertisers to critical audiences in a way that can impact their bottom lines.”
The informal in-person event incorporated presentations from CMOs and industry leaders from brands such as Johnson & Johnson, LVMH and St. Jude, as well as negotiation “speed dating” sessions for brands and media entities and performances. Sponsors (and AIMM members) like P&G, Verizon, Target, An, Publicis, Nielsen, AARP helped fund the event.
