Dr. Sanjay Gupta Tells Us How To Stay Thin Through The Holidays

gupta3CNN’s resident doc Sanjay Gupta has a new book out, Cheating Death, which chronicles miraculous medical advances that have saved lives.

Of course, TV DivaGal had to ask the good doc how to cheat… holiday weight gain!

“Eating a third less at every single meal and never stuffing yourself to the point where you feel overfull,” he advised to me during his book launch party at New York City’s Rouge Tomate restaurant last night.

“It takes about 15 minutes for the brain to catch up with the stomach that we’ve eaten the food. The problem is most of us eat a four-course meal in that time.”

It’s a system that’s actually worked for the M.D.

“I do tons of leg work, I run, I bike and I swim. The time I started making changes in my own body is when I started eating less,” he shared.

“It sounds simple, and there’s a lot of data to back up that it works.”

So lay off that second ΓÇô or third ΓÇô piece of pecan pie this holiday season!

Catch the doc’s series, House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 a.m. on CNN.
