ENTERTAINMENT GAL On the Set of The Protector: Tisha Campbell-Martin’s hot new (onscreen!) love life!
By Entertainment Gal | June 28, 2011 | Entertainment, Gals On The TownEntertainment Gal hits the set of the new Lifetime dramedy The Protector to undercover Tisha Campbell-Martin’s new male lineup!
On June 15 Entertainment Gal visited the set of The Protector, a new series starring Tisha Campbell-Martin and Ally Walker and as LAPD detectives. Tisha came to our interview straight from the red-eye out of Washington D.C., where she had spoken with Congress about reauthorizing the Autism Act (her nine-year-old son Xen battles with the condition). Tisha looked amazing for not having had much sleep, thanks to the power of MAC makeup.
Tisha had become the go-to sitcom girl, which was a great thing for her family life. But since her children are older now, working 14 to 16 hour days is not as much of a stressor. It’s one of the reasons she took on the role of Michelle Dulcett, to delve into more serious material. Despite the long hours on the drama, Tisha states her character brings a lot of comedic elements to the table. Onscreen partner Ally is a mother as well, and they both believe in getting the job done so they can live the rest of their lives.
Tisha is also reveling in the fact that she gets to play the single galΓǪ yep, that means lots of lots of eligible men coming her way. You will “get to see her date,” and according to Tisha, we viewers won’t be disappointed in the guest stars. “ItΓÇÖs a very pretty show,” she stresses. One of her love interests will be Terrell Tilford who plays Ramon Rush, an LAPD police officer.
According to Terrell, Ramon is an all-around good guy from Los Angeles who has a true passion for being a police officer. He loves what he does and is very honest and by the book. As the characterΓÇÖs nickname on the show is ΓÇ£Romeo,ΓÇ¥ it follows that heΓÇÖs a bit of a ladies man, so there will be a bit of a build-up for him and Tisha to become a couple.
There is obviously chemistry between the actors because of the affection they have for one another in their private lives: Tisha and Terrell have known each other for years as Terrell is married to one of TishaΓÇÖs best friends that sheΓÇÖs known since she was 12-years-old.
Terrell shares that Tisha’s infectious smile and loud laugh stand out. And he, like everyone else in the cast, constantly teases Tisha that even though she plays a police officer, she’s not able to shoot worth a lick in real life. Luckily, Tisha has a secret weapon: her brother who is a police lieutenant is going to take her to the range and help her perfect her shot.
Both Tisha and Terrell have Twitter accounts that they use religiously, so be sure to follow them (@TishaCampblMrtn; @TerrellTilford).
The Protector airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.
